I’m showing my age when i say my first experience of Formula 1 was the James Hunt / Nicky Lauda era, even if i didn’t really know what was going on. It was a staple all through my upbringing for the race to be on the TV on Sunday, rooting for Mansell, then Hill, and of course being wowed by Schumacher and Senna, and more recently Lewis.
It was a lot of years later before i started doing F1 art pieces, mainly for my own pleasure and also resisting due to market saturation, however I’ve included some of the stand out drivers that I’ve done.
I’ve used pretty much every media going, from graphite and oil based pencils, to markers, and then oil paints on canvas, i feel equally at home with all of them, although i tend use just oil based pencils on art board, or oil paints on canvas now.
